Silent Horror Film
Silent films were made in an era of great experimentation with the medium of film itself and its possibilities. 'Horror' films of the time used this experimentation to great advantage, with techniques such as double exposure and negative images used to eerie effect in films such as Sjostrom's The Phantom Carriage and Murnau's Nosferatu.
