Film Description
A classic 1940s film noir following the events of a murder case, Stranger on the Third Floor stars Peter Lorre as a mysterious stranger.
Newspaper reporter Michael Ward (John McGuire) provides a statement that results in taxi driver Joe Briggs (Elisha Cook Jr) being sentenced to death for murder. As time goes on, Ward becomes increasingly doubtful of the evidence he gave and can't shake the feeling of guilt, suspecting a mysterious stranger (Peter Lorre) he has seen to have some involvement in the case. When another murder takes place, all evidence seems to point the finger at Ward. Trying to prove his innocence, his girlfriend, Jane (Margaret Tallichet), goes in search of the strange man...
