Film Description
Comedy starring Bob Hope as Humphrey 'Sorrowful' Jones, a low-rent bookmaker whose freewheeling lifestyle is brought to an abrupt halt after a gambler leaves behind his young daughter Martha Jane as a bet marker. When the father is killed by mobster Big Steve Holloway, Sorrowful decides to hide Martha Jane from the authorities to prevent her from ending up in an orphanage. Lucille Ball co-stars as Sorrowful's girlfriend Gladys.
