Film Description
A poignant drama based on David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Proof stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Catherine, a young woman who has given up a seemingly bright future in order to take care of her ailing father, Robert (Anthony Hopkins), an unstable mathematical genius. After he dies, Catherine's closed-off world is invaded by her estranged sister (Hope Davis), and Hal (Jake Gyllenhaal), a a young mathematician who worshipped Robert and who hopes to find valuable work in his remaining notebooks.
