Collection of features set during brutal medieval times. ’Iron and Blood - The Legend of Taras Bulba’ (2009) is based on the life and times of 16th-century Ukrainian Cossack leader Taras Bulba (Bogdan Stupka), who sends his son, Andriy (Igor Petrenko), to Poland in order to teach him the ways of the oppressor. The boy, however, has ideas of his own. ’Alexander - The Warrior Saint’ (2008) brings to life the struggles of Prince Alexander Yaroslavich (Anton Pampushny) to defend and consolidate his power against the threat posed by the King of Sweden (Valeri Kukhareshin). Whilst ’Barbarossa - Siege Lord’ (2009) stars Rutger Hauer as German Emperor Frederick I, or ’Barbarossa’, a power hungry ruler who will stop at nothing to conquer neighbouring kingdoms and revive the empire once presided over by Charles the Great.
