Film Description
A fast-paced fifties comedy, Jumping for Joy brought fame for Frankie Howerd who stars as Willie Joy, a sacked handyman at a greyhound track who attempts to keep one step ahead of gangsters, crooked bookies and sports officials.
After getting sacked, Willie takes on wounded greyhound Lindy Lou, who is due to be put down. Teaming up with amiable con man ‘Captain’ Montague (Stanley Holloway), Willie decides to train Lindy to compete for the prestigious Golden Bowl trophy. But it’s not just the other dogs she has to beat – there are crooked bookies and race-track spivs to deal with too!
