Film Description

Lavish, star-studded BBC costume drama based on the novels by Elizabeth Gaskell, following the absurdities and tragedies of life in the small northern English town of Cranford in the 1840s. Judi Dench stars the lovelorn Miss Matty Jenkyns, forced to give up her true love Mr Holbrook (Michael Gambon) as a young woman.
