Film Description

Italian writer-director Alice Rohrwacher's debut feature, Corpo Celeste is a coming-of-age drama set in a small town in southern Italy.

Introverted 13-year-old Marta has recently moved back to Calabria with her mother and older sister after a ten-year spell in Switzerland. As she prepares for her confirmation, she tests the confines placed upon her by the hypocrisies of the Catholic church and the quiet frustration of small-town life.
