Film Description
Russian WWII drama about a group of escaped prisoners' fight for survival. At the height of their country's battle with the Nazi invaders, seven prisoners from a brutal Soviet penitentiary make a bid for freedom when their prison is threatened by the advancing German army. Taking shelter in an outlying village, the men's short-lived freedom is soon threatened by the arrival of a German mopping-up unit aimed at eliminating any last pockets of resistance. With nowhere left to run, the men's only hope now lies with defending the country that had left them to rot.
