Film Description
Inspired by actual events, The Whistleblower is a fast-paced thriller that forcefully deals with sex trafficking, corruption, and cover-ups in high places.
When Kathryn Bolkovac (Rachel Weisz), a Nebraskan police officer, relocates to post-war Bosnia to work as a peacekeeper for the United Nations, her expectations of helping to rebuild a devastated country are dashed when she unveils a different reality: a sex trafficking ring that involves high-up UN personnel. With help from diplomat Madeleine Rees (Vanessa Redgrave) and a friend in Internal Affairs, Peter Ward (David Strathairn), Kathryn discovers the extent of the corruption and the cover-up - and needs to get the story out.
