Black comedy that follows the twists and turns of a dysfunctional British family as they gather to mourn the passing of their patriarch. It’s the day of his father’s funeral and Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) wants everything to go according to plan. Things get off to a bad start when the undertakers bring the wrong body to the house. From there things begin to deteriorate. Daniel’s rakish older brother (Rupert Graves) has just flown in from New York and is only interested in chatting up a pretty girl at the service; his cousin’s (Daisy Donovan) straight-laced boyfriend (Alan Tudyk) is convinced that someone is alive in the coffin, and a rogue bottle of hallucinogenic pills keeps popping up. If that isn’t enough, a mysterious dwarf (Peter Dinklage) from his father’s past threatens to expose the secret of the patriarch’s sex life unless he is paid a king’s ransom for the incriminating photographs he possesses. It is up to Daniel to do everything he can to make sure the service goes off without a hitch by keeping his eccentric family in-line, hiding his father’s secret sex life from the guests, and finding the bottle of hallucinogens.
