Emeric Pressburger Films

After fleeing to England to escape the Nazis, Pressburger joined a group of Hungarian filmmakers where he met Powell who was assisting with a project. The pair were total opposites in terms of background and personality yet they found common ground in their approach to film-making. Referring to themselves as The Archers, they made 19 feature films, many receiving critical and commercial success. Together with Powell, Pressburger was responsible for some of the most memorable and inventive British films of the 20th century.
