Classic Musicals & Music Movies
The musical has proved to be an astoundingly enduring form of cinema. It had a Golden Age that seemed to last as long as the Western (from the Busby Berkeley extravaganzas of the early thirties to, say, Oliver! in 1968) and it has been successfully revived at least every few years since: Grease, Evita, Chicago, Moulin Rouge and now Mamma Mia! The titles you'll find here, though, are the true jewels of the genre.
