Sidse Babett Knudsen to star in The Duke of Burgundy.

Borgen1

After making her mark playing the first female Danish Prime Minister in Borgen - as well as appearing in such films as Susanne Bier's After The Wedding - Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen will make her English language feature debut in Peter Strickland's forthcoming feature The Duke of Burgundy.

Described as a dark melodrama the film is also set to star Chiara D’Anna (who starred in Strickland's previous film Berberian Sound Studio) as an amateur lepidopterist whose wayward desires test the limits of her lover's tolerance.

The film will be produced by Rook Films, the company behind the films of Ben Wheatley including recent multi-platform success A Field In England.
